Music is such a part of life. It is everywhere. For me it is like oxygen I need it to breath, I need it to live.
Part of my passion for music is my love for singing. I have been singing all my life. It became very difficult to find places to sing or listen to good music. I did not want to spend time in a smokey bar, I didn't enjoy the language or the temptation. I didn't enjoy watching people argue and fight. It was loud and expensive. It would end in stealing my joy and my fun.
It was not good for date night, and it was never a family friendly atmosphere. I started to see and understand the need for a service that would serve those who shared my concerns and values. I realized that I am not alone, there were many people who feel the same way.
It has taken me a very long time to find and collect the rare music and appropriate songs. Music from the 30s to now in many styles. Over 500 thousand songs. Country. Bluegrass, Contemporary Christian, Blues, Jazz, Gospel, Black Gospel, Folk, Rockabilly, Rock and Roll, Soft Rock, Classic Rock, Hard Rock, Rhythm and Blues, Motown, Latin Jazz, Pop, Techno Pop, Inde, Funk, Dance music. Music age appropriate for all ages, from Children to the Elderly.
My music history and experience
My musical journey started when I was very young around 4 or 5. My Irish grandfather was a square dance caller and played traditional Irish music. he played 7 different instruments. I grew up in upstate New York in farm country. I was exposed to so many different cultures. The Catskills are home summer camps, small vacation towns and farms of course. But because it is only 4 to 5 hours away from New York City there has always been a flow of cultures moving north. The largest population of Jewish Americans make the Catskills home. Hava Nagela, Hanukkah, Rossana, Yom Kippur were part of holidays and celebrations. Part of my family heritage is Native American, from the Mohawk Nation. Mohawk Nation is part of the Six Nations or Iroquois. This includes Onondaga, Onedia, Mohawk, Cayuga, Seneca, Tuscarora Nations. My grandparents, who I spent summers with, managed an Armenian camp. So I was exposed to middle eastern culture and music as well.
